I think Google could not come up with a better logo than this:
Looks like the letter ‘l’ from Google had to be dropped in the end due to design constraints
I guess.
Orkut did a pretty Good job on the logo which it must owing to its popularity in the social networking community. There’s no count to how many people might have met online and fell in love through orkut. I know a few myself
. Orkut’s log has a Mac’ish look or what you can call a web 2.0 look. Even the Orkut’s third anniversary logo was pretty well done.

For your information, google’s webpage was a literary reference to the poet Googe. look it up

That reference to googe is not an official statement by google. They were claiming that the green stem of the strawberry is ‘L’ in the Google.
